EPILOGUE
"Dawn's breaking," Renji noted, looking over Ichigo's shoulder.
"So's my back, jackass." Ichigo's voice was gruff. Renji was kind of proud of that.
"Any regrets?" He slid up the bed and pecked the back of Ichigo's neck, probably using more tongue than he should have. Ichigo shook him off, but Renji detected a smile on his face before it was buried in a pillow.
Ichigo stretched himself, arms moving under the pillows until they reappeared clutching the metal bars above his bed. The sunshine that slowly filtered into the room played on Ichigo's sweaty back muscles as he flexed them, making his skin look almost golden. Fuck, if only I wasn't so worn out…
"Only that you made a fucking hole in my wall," Ichigo replied. Hey, you did that. "Oh, and that I'm too tired to take a shower."
Renji laughed. "You were filthy even before I got my hands on you." And here I thought you were a virgin.
Ichigo murmured something into the pillow, and it took a moment for Renji to realize what it was. "I'm not fucking filthy."
Running a finger down Ichigo's back to his probably sore ass, Renji smirked. There was still a trickle of come down his thighs. "I know this wasn't your first time."
Ichigo burrowed into the mattress in response, trying to get away from Renji's roaming fingers. "I've only ever been with one guy. We just did it a lot of times - Ow, you're the one who brought it up!"
Renji didn't even realize he was scratching Ichigo's already bruised back. He retreated. Didn't need to know that much. You're mine.
"We're partners," he finally said.
When Ichigo's face reappeared there was a huge smirk all over it, the brat. "You just always crave my full attention."
"That's a lie." Renji unintentionally smiled while saying that, shoving Ichigo's shoulder and making him laugh, of all things.
"Ow, you little shit-" Ichigo pushed him right back.
Then Renji realized they were scuffling and giggling in bed. Better than cuddling. He stopped anyway, for the sake of their manly pride. He wasn't sure what normal people were supposed to say in situations like these, so he simply got up.
He knew it was the wrong move the second he sensed Ichigo's energy. Hell, he even cared. "Where are you going?" Ichigo asked.
"To sleep at my place?" he answered. That's how it's supposed to be, right? For the first time ever, Renji cursed himself for being socially fucked up. Thankfully, Ichigo gave him a hint.
There was nothing he could have done when Ichigo gave him a determined look and reached out. "You're staying here."
If he were to ever tell this story in the future, he'd definitely say he put up more of a fight before crashing back on the bed with a sigh.
"We really should change the sheets," Ichigo commented, but Renji was already under the covers and next to Ichigo and didn't care.
"We should just sleep and have sex and eat and have sex for a week."
"Well, we have until nighttime," Ichigo said. Whether it was Renji's brain or Ichigo's mouth, things were getting slower. Warmer, too.
What was I saying? Oh, right, nighttime. "Then it's Renjiman and Karakuraizer, away."
Ichigo snorted, his eyes already drifting shut. "Until the next crisis."
Renji shut his eyes too, burying his head in Ichigo's pillow. "Until then."
